Three years ago an idea came to light to hold the OHS Alumni Reunion, OHS Football Homecoming and Oswegofest all on the same weekend and boy are we glad we did! What a difference it has made! It’s wonderful to see our community come together to make it all happen. The events make for a very busy weekend, but it always amazes me how perfectly it all comes together. On Friday night the Oswego Indians took down the Northeast Vikings 65-0. The OHS Alumni Association registered approximately 150 alumni at the game! Those who registered received free admission to the game and was entered in a drawing to win one of two prizes given that night. A $25 gift certificate, donated by the OHS Booster Club, was awarded to Jennie King Green, Class of 1987. Tickets for two to Silver Dollar City, donated by Jim Wilks, Class of 1962, were presented to Rhonda Beasley Pemberton, Class of 1988. Several classes that were holding reunions came to the game to support our Indians! On Saturday Oswegofest was held in downtown Oswego and OHS Alumni could meet up with their former classmates at the OHS Mini Reunions at the Oswego Museum. While just walking around town it was amazing to see the number of OHS Alumni who had traveled from near and far! The OHS Alumni Reunion Dinner and Dance was held at the Oswego Community Center again this year. Approximately 150 attended the dinner this year which was catered by Chicken Mary’s and dessert by Lori’s Creative Cakes. Numerous door prizes were given out and classes were recognized. Many classes holding reunions had quite a turnout! The doors reopened after dinner and several more alumni came to enjoy the music by Two Dudes with a Radio. We danced until midnight then once again it all had to come to an end, but the new memories made will last forever! We
would like to thank everyone who donated their time to help with the reunion.
Without their help this event would not be possible. We would also like
to thank everyone who made donations for the drawings and the door prizes.
Special thanks to all those at Oswego High School for making all us alumni
feel welcome at the homecoming game! Thank you to Oswego Middle School
and Oswego High School for opening the schools for the alumni to tour.
Special thanks to Cindy Dean and all her helpers for putting on another
wonderful Oswegofest!
See you next year! |
